MacBook Won't Turn On? Logic Board Repair in Kollam

Signs it's a board fault, not just the battery

• Completely dead: no fan, no keyboard light, no startup sound, nothing on screen
• Works only while plugged in, or shuts off as soon as the charger is pulled out (this can be the battery or the board; diagnosis tells which)
• Not charging at all, or the charger light doesn't come on
• On a USB-C power meter it sits at 5 volts and never switches up to charging voltage
• Screen stays black, but caps lock or the keyboard light still responds
• Died after a spill, a power surge or a different charger
• Gets warm while switched off

A black screen with the MacBook still running is sometimes a display or backlight fault rather than a power fault. Diagnosis tells the two apart.

Try this before you bring it in

• Try a different charger and cable you know are good, and a different USB-C port.
• Hold the power button for about 10 seconds, release, then press it once.
• Leave it on the charger for a while. A fully flat battery can take time to show life.
• If there was any liquid, skip all of this. Unplug it, switch it off, don't charge it and bring it in. See water damage repair.

How we find the fault at Alfa-Fix Central

We don't guess and swap parts. We measure how much power the board draws, check the main power lines for shorts, and trace them under the microscope to the part that has failed. Common culprits are a USB-C charging controller, a shorted capacitor pulling a power line to ground, a failed power-management chip, or corrosion from an old spill.

We name the failed line or IC and tell you before any work. Then you get the price, and nothing is repaired until you say yes.

Why repair the board instead of replacing it

• Your data stays. On most recent MacBooks the storage is soldered to the logic board and encrypted to it. A replacement board comes with empty storage, and your files don't come across.
• Your MacBook stays yours. Your own board keeps its serial number and its pairing with the rest of the machine.
• You pay for the fault, not a whole board. Many no-power faults come down to one failed component or one damaged area, and fixing that is a smaller job than swapping the board.

What happens to your data

Board repair works on your own board and storage, so in most cases your files are still there when the MacBook starts again. We can't promise it for every fault, especially after heavy liquid damage.
